Two’s Company – Exploring a Partner Practice

Saturday 19th February 2022,1-4pm

A partner practice involves the qualities of being present, listening, honest communication and the interface of both giving and receiving.  Open to all with an interest in physical movement and the human potential of partner collaboration.  No partner necessary.

 

The World of Arm Balances and Inversions

Saturday 19th March 2022, 1-4pm

Ideal for anyone with regular yoga, movement or bodywork practice, for those keen to discover their hands & arm balancing potential. We will build up progressively, covering alignment techniques, strength training & the embodiment of balances & inversions.

Prerequisites: 

  • Should be comfortable being upside down and 
  • Be able to do a headstand against a wall for 15 seconds.

 

Yoga, Conditioning & Therapeutics for Climbers 

Saturday 23rd April 2022, 1-4pm

A workshop specifically for climbers. Bringing together the traditions of yoga asana, callisthenic conditioning & Thai massage.  Ideal for those interested in maintaining & supporting their climbing practice.  Open to all.

 

Covid Safety Protocol

We will be encouraging group mixing and contact and as such, every participant is required to conduct a lateral flow test and present a -ve test result on the morning of or before the workshop.

We are transitioning wearily out of this Covid pandemic but we still want to be cautious.  There will be spare test kits should you forget to test.

Cancellation Policy

You are advised that there is a 48 hours notice via email to hello@jaquiwan.com should you wish to cancel and claim your full or proportional refund. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in a £10 admin fee deducted from your refund for each workshop and or each person.

There are exceptions to this if you have been told to isolate and or have had a recent positive covid test result.  A full refund will be issued upon submission of evidence to confirm your circumstance.

A five-week course for experienced practitioners to the lunar side of AcroYoga.A practice that cultivates listening, sensitive touch and the art of giving and receiving.

We will cover: –

  • intermediate Thai massage techniques;
  • the effective use of gravity, body weight and harmonics as tools to connect, engage and release;
  • enhance your suspended therapeutics repertoire with flying sequences and transitions.

Prerequisites: –

  • To give a Thai massage treatment for the minimum of 30 minutes &
  • To give a forward flying therapeutic sequence for 5 minutes.

Please note you are required to attend all sessions, you will be working in pairs and encouraged to take on homework and practice with your fellow student colleagues and or family and friends in order to make the most of our offering.

Elemental Immersion Flyer

This 5 day / 30 hour Immersion introduces the full range practice of AcroYoga. A series of five weekly classes that explore the lunar principles to AcroYoga Lunar.  A practice that cultivates the art of deep listening, loving touch and the ability to give and receive.

Saturday: Lunar Thai & Fly Day 1-7pm

The AcroYoga Lunar practice cultivates the art of deep listening, loving touch and the ability to give and receive.

You will learn:

  • to fly passively by trusting and letting go;
  • the power of the breath in releasing fear and emotional holding patterns;
  • ground, accept and witness.

The day will consist of:

  • the Lunar asana to prepare your physical and mental body for the afternoon ahead;
  • elements of Thai massage to explore energetic flow and blockages in the body; and
  • work with the breath, gravity, body weight, touch and vibrations to release and unblock.

We will introduce suspended therapeutics, involving a base and flyer. The base grounds and suspends the flyer with their hands and feet to create.  The passive nature of the flyer enables the base to sculpt the flyer into a variety of shapes that stretch and opens the flyers upper body, enabling the potential release of tension and muscular holding patterns.

Open to all and especially those who have studied or are studying massage or other forms of body work.

Sunday: Solar Acro Day 11-5pm

The AcroYoga Solar practice is focus on acrobatics, covering alignment techniques and strength elements that progress into basic partner balancing, cultivating trust, strength and flexibility whilst working as a team.

We will cover:

  • yoga asana & conditioning;
  • inversions & spotting techniques;
  • L basing acrobatic balancing & transitions; and
  • hand to hand & foot to hand connections.

We will hold a safe and supportive environment that will empower the whole room to be upside down and play!  Exploring possibilities of collaboration, connection & mutually finding points of balance.

Open to all with some form of body awareness and practice.

Delve into your acrobatic potential, no direct experience necessary.
