Open to all levels. we will provide a safe environment to explore trust, connection and playfulness. We will combine elements from Yoga, Acrobatics, and Thai Massage and cover asana sequences, partner yoga, assisted inversions, basic partner acrobatics, therapeutic flying and Thai massage. Demystifying Inversions @ Evolve

If you are an experience yoga practitioner and have been baffled or scared of being inverted this is the one for you.

A layered offering that begins with an asana practice, that includes upper body conditioning enabling the ability of taking weight on your hands. Explore different kinds of inversions and look into the benefits of doing them.

During our three hour session into the world of inversions. We will: –

  • work progressively into the art of inversions, beginning with an asana practice that enables body awareness, ease and comfort with being inverted;
  • cover the principles of taking your weight on your hands, this includes some time allocated to arm balances;
  • explore be the benefits doing inversions, breaking down the foundations and variations to: –
    • headstands (sirsasana),
    • forearm-stand (pincha mayurasana) and
    • handstands (adho mukha vrksasana)

Suitable for experienced yoga practitioners with an interest in working on their inversion practice. Please note you will be encouraged to work in pairs or in small groups.

Two’s Company : the art of counter balances

Two’s Company is part a two part workshop series, this offering focuses on the art of counter balances.

 

When: 1st May 2016 2-5pm

Where: Yotopia, 13 Mercer Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9QJ

Costs: £30, bookings are made directly with the studio

We will up look into the push, pull nuances of balance, stretch and engagement that allows for beautiful shapes and structures to be built when we delve into the world of counter balancing.

This three hour workshop will begin with an solo asana practice to prepare the body for session ahead.  There after we will calibrate with the giving and receiving of body weight and how this will be used in balancing each others weight.

We will explore different counterbalances both symmetrical and asymmetric shapes can lever bodies into interesting positions and stretches.

Pre requisites: –

  • some experience with inversions would be beneficial;
  • a regular yoga or body work practice; and  
  • a willingness to work supportively in small groups.

Two’s Company is part a two part workshop series that begins with the exploration into a partner practice.

Two's Company 0216Celebrate your relationships with friends, family and or partners with a Valentine’s Day workshop in the art of a partner practice.

We will:

  • expand deeper than you would on your own though the collaboration of assisted partner stretches;
  • explore the themes of trust and letting go with AcroYoga and the art of flying therapeutics;
  • discover the power of healing hands through Thai massage and the balance of giving and receiving.

This three hour workshop will introduce you to partner yoga; suspended therapeutics, where you explore the roles of inactive flying and supportive basing; and the listening qualities of Thai massage. 

Not just for partners. Ideal for anyone interested in what is possible in pairs.  No yoga or massage experience necessary just a willingness to be tactile in a non intimidating way.

Bookings are made directly with the studio.  There are limited spaces which will mean booking is best to reserve your place.
